Volunteer Chainsaw Training: May 6-7

Writer's picture: MTB MissoulaMTB Missoula

After a two-year hiatus due to Covid, chainsaw training is back!

  • This course is geared toward people who own their own chainsaw and safety equipment and are planning on helping clear downed trees on MTB Missoula volunteer days.

  • There is no fee for the course, but we ask you to have a current MTBM membership (>/= $50)

  • All participants must have a current First Aid/CPR certification. Many groups in Missoula offer this training

If you have had a USFS certification in the past: you just need an evaluation (and current CPR/First Aid) to recertify, so this would mean coming out on Saturday afternoon to saw with the evaluator. Of course, you're welcome to take the whole course as a refresher. Use the same form linked below to sign up.

Course will include a classroom session Friday evening and a field session all day Saturday.
