Title: Field Services Specialist
Term: Full-time seasonal, March - Oct. 38 hrs/wk.
Start date: Late March 2024
Salary: $21 - $24 per hour DOE. Term completion bonus.

Primary Responsibilities
The Field Services Specialist will serve as MTBM’s lead on field-based programs and initiatives. This includes planning and facilitation of volunteer trail stewardship events, completing trail restoration tasks while acting as an MTBM ambassador, and supporting our community events and outreach efforts. During new trail construction projects, this position will assist trail builders as needed and serve as staff liaison to the director. Other administrative and supportive duties as assigned.
Skills and Experience
Candidates best suited for this position love mountain biking and have a minimum of two years experience with natural-surface trail maintenance and construction or equivalent through related work. This position will span various responsibilities–from facilitating highly social events to days spent working independently in the woods. Strong communication, relationship building, and leadership skills are required. Experience developing detailed work plans based on broad goals and objectives, then executing successfully.
Additional required experience and skills:
Understanding of mountain bike culture and public land management;
Mountain bike oriented trail maintenance with regard to flow, safe drainage, sight lines, good corners;
Fundamentals of trail maintenance, including: tools, soils, weeds, water management, US Forest Service specifications; and
Drivers license with no major infractions within the past three years.
