About the event
Join us Saturday June 25th for our annual Sheep Mountain clearing day! We need swampers to help the sawyers move the cleared logs and use handsaws to clear smaller trees and brush.
Note: this is a long day in the backcountry. All volunteers need to be confident in their ability to be self-supported, a long ways from EMS, for 8 to 12 hours.
Sawyers must have a current USFS chainsaw certification- if you're not already on our Saw Team please reach out separately before showing up Saturday.
Meet 8am sharp at the main Rattlesnake trailhead with bike, food/water/clothing for a full day in the woods, a folding handsaw if you have one (we have a few), and first aid and tool kits. We'll split up into shuttle rigs and drive to the Sheep Mountain and Mineral Peak trailheads, working down to Franklin Bridge and back out the the main Rattlesnake trailhead.
